Gioacchino Giuliano – Trumpet Teacher

He was born in S. Stefano di Camastra (Me); he began studying the Trumpet at the Conservatory “V. Bellini” in Palermo, wherein 1979 he obtained his Diploma, collaborating in the same period with the Orchestra
Teatro Massimo in Palermo and the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra.
He moved to Rome, from 1980 to 1988, he is part, as the first instrument, of the National Band of the Carabinieri.
In 1988 he won the 1st trumpet competition at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, which he held until 2020.
He has perfected himself with illustrious Masters including Maestro Vincenzo Camaglia, – 1st Trumpet of the National Orchestra of the Academy of “S. Cecilia – and the Masters P. Smith, V. Penzerella at the Julliard School in New York.
Since 1990 he began his collaboration with the most important national orchestras: the Orchestra Nazionale dell’Accademia di “S. Cecilia”, the Filarmonica della Scala, the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale fiorentino, the Orchestra del Teatro San Carlo di Napoli playing under the direction of the most important conductors such as Muti, Bernstein, Gergiev, Chung, Pretre, Thielemann, Sinopoli, Gatti, Inbal e Metha etc.
He has also given numerous solo concerts in Italy and abroad (U.S.A, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, South America), obtaining unanimous acclaim from the public and critics. His repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary music, including numerous authors such as Bach, Tartini, Hummel, Haydn, Tomasì, Jolivet and Arutunjan.
Since 1990 he has held numerous master classes for various Italian and foreign musical associations. Since 2003 he has been professor of trumpet at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “V. Bellini” in Caltanissetta.
